Unlimited National Bangers East Anglian Championship – 15/04/2017 – King’s Lynn

The first Unlimited domestic of the season at the Adrian Flux Arena raised just over 65 cars on Easter Saturday.

The White and Yellow Championship kicked off the evening’s proceedings raising 25 cars. 513 Shaggy was spun down the home straight triggering a small pile up. 791 Spud attacked 79 Twelly before going on to spin 128 Shippy. 178 Bowman attempted a head on attack on 791 Spud but duly missed, copping a hit over the rear wheel from 10 Collins for his efforts. 222 Matty spun 634 Marty, as 791 Spud homed in for a heavy front wheel shot on 178 Bowman. The red flags being called to check on young Kieran, who exited the car after a few moments. With only a couple of laps left, the race was declared in favour of 551 Brett Jackson; 95 Martin and 548 Big Al his placemen.

Heat 1 raised an impressive 43 cars. 298 was the first to show as he spat 165 Benny left, only to be ran in by 174 Rathbone. 662 Dalts jacked the lame 299 Callaghan, with the latter being treated to a solid head on by 174 Rathbone. The reds came out for 299 Callaghan, who exited all ok. The race resumed with 170 Shipp jacking 32 Asbo. 551 Jacko Jnr tboned 132 Bobbles, as 22 Vinno spun 634 Marty. 132 Bobbles dished Shunter revenge to 170 Shipp which left him prone to a big shot from 43 Bish triggering the first jacking train of the evening. 79 Twelly absolutely leathered 43 Bish. 247 Bro ran into the lame 174 Ratbone, bending the Yank Estate in peculiar fashion. The leading 433 Smith collected the spun 388 Lump, allowing 830 Stretch to blast the former, only to cop one in turn from World of Shale Champion 88 Fat Face. 257 Waterboy ended the action with an on oppo attack to 811 Pistol Pete. 757 Callum Gill raced to an impressive victory. 170 Shipp’s destructive use of his Previa earning him an entertainer award. 43 Bish receiving a merit award for his impressive wreck.

Heat 2 raised another strong field of 44 cars. 266 Odd Job ran in 514 Taylor. 388 Lump picked up the recovering 514 Taylor to run him in for the second time. 266 Odd Job attacked 589 Smiffy. 960 Rossco buried 257 Waterboy, while 170 Shipp delivered a head on to 611 Postman. 266 Odd Job jacked 170 Shipp hard. 266 Odd Job pushed 611 Postman into traffic causing a pile up. 455 Rikki collected 170 Ship, and was jacked in turn by 88 Fat Face. 132 Bobbles blasted 299 Callaghan on oppo. 514 Taylor blitzed 170 Shipp. 209 Tombo spun 757 Jack Jnr. 597 Ashman raced to the win this time round.

The East Anglian Championship raised 44 cars again, with 338 Terry Garrod on his first race of the night. The action started slow, with a few spins – 17 Chiefy falling foul of 209 Tombo, 433 Smith dispatching 514 Taylor and 10 Collins sticking it to 769 Englestone, before 589 Smiffy attacked the tramping 170 Shipp, spinning him left at the end of the home straight and rolling him in the process bringing a full restart. The restart saw 921 Aldridge turn it around and blast 10 Collins. 597 Ashman jacked 921 Aldridge, while 455 Rikki was spun into the chaos. 769 Englestone tboned 921 Aldridge, as 132 Bobbles went for an on oppo attack on the road bend and was caught in the door by 257 Waterboy was also done in similar fashion by 299 Callaghan. The race being brought to a halt to check on the drivers. 170 Shipp and 132 Bobbles were waiting on the road bend from the off; causing a pile up straight away. 757 Jack Jnr buried 960 Rossco hard, as 611 Postman jacked 811 Pistol Pete in the pile up. 617 Overy buried 327 Maskell, before 433 Smith followed 322 Foxy into the back of 327 Maskell. The reds came out to check on 960 Ross Winsor who hit the wall square. The restart saw 330 Crash Test Dummy go straight for a head on with 132 Bobbles. 514 Taylor jacked 330 Crash Test Dummy in turn, with 769 homing in for a big shot on 514 Taylor. 611 Postman jacked 769 Englestone, 513 Shaggy weighing in on 611 Postman in turn. 455 Rikki delivered a storming follow in on 791 Spud into the back of the pile up, as 160 Winsor ran 22 Vinno into the back of the pile up. The reds coming out to assist 769 Englestone who was trapped drivers door on in the pile up. The restart saw 514 Taylor back out on the leading 757 Jack Jnr. A brilliant scrap for the lead broke out between 247 Bro, 209 Tombo, 617 Overy and 757 Jack Jnr. 513 Shaggy backed out on the leading 247 Bro, with the latter keeping the momentum up to follow his attacker in. 617 Overy spun 757 Jack Jnr from contention as 247 Bro homed in for a tbone on 513 Shaggy. The race being stopped once again to check on 513 Shaggy. Just 6 cars left for the restart. 589 Smiffy blasting 170 Shipp with a head on, as 617 Overy leant 209 Tombo out wide to grab the lead in a thrilling last few laps for the four remaining drivers. 617 Overy held on for the win from 209 Tombo, 673 Fendley and 247 Bro. Straight into the DD, where 662 Dalts rejoined to jack 247 Bro hard, 617 Overy went in on the former. 811 Pistol Pete attacked 247 Bro, as 103 Jacko went flying down the back straight to blast 589 Smiffy. 247 Bro went in on the nose of 811 Pistol Pete, only to cop one in turn from 617 Overy. 811 Pistol Pete and 662 Dalts traded blows, as 247 Bro silenced 617 Overy. 103 Jacko killed off 247 Bro before going on to jack 811 Pistol Pete hard. 811 Pistol Pete limped off to attack 662 Dalts. The latter silenced 811 Pistol Pete to claim the honours and cap off a solid session.
