The Unders Heat 1 started the day off with 30 cars on track. 310 Eno spat aside 357 Mr Mischief. There was a few spin outs on the back straight, as 48 The Showman delivered much of the same to 380 Wright. 421 Mr Dino attacked 855 Sherwood. 158 Davies swiftly spun 146 Carter aside. 349 Finbarr weighed in on 421 Mr Dino and then proceeded to turn 37 Bride fencewards. The rapid 158 Davies spun 353 Buckley’s camper van, rolling the latter on impact earning Buckley the prize for the first roll of the day. This brought a red and chequered out with only a couple of laps left; not before 380 Wright moved in for an attack on 146 Carter. 158 Shane Davies taking the win and he was presented with a montage of Dave King from Kingy’s family members and Graham Edwards.

Unders Heat 2 raised 33 cars, which was an all A60 heat for the annual North West Shield. 439 Sutty expired before the off as he forgot to fill his A60 with fuel – 277 the Poacher and 390 O’Bernie also failed to make the start. 112 the Captain put away 587 Humps who went up onto two wheels. 295 Morrison set about 386 Tony, who rejoined only to be rolled under the starters rostrum by 252 Wibbs bringing a race stoppage. The restart saw 281 Tingle set about 125 Herbert. 112 the Captain ran in 26 Bylett. 281 Tingle jacked 125 Herbert. 528 Jethro enjoyed a close battle with the leading 516 Ikky, as 112 the Captain spun 591 Morris. 666 Coward backed across the track claiming 143 O’Connor. 528 Jethro obliged to jack 666 Coward just before the reds came out. 516 Ikky survived for the win.

The Overs Heat 1 saw 22 cars make the track. Several drivers spun out on the back straight straight away. 33 Smiley delivered a massive jacking to 388 Lil Stevo, who was tangled up with 158 Dickson. 100 Cock ran in 155 Captain Slow. 252 Blobby spun 514 Babyface. The rapid 252 Blobby took out 266 Big Al. 252 Blobby buried 33 Smiley. 152 Mr Grumpy jacked the limp 388 Lil Stevo. 152 Mr Grumpy administered a rear wheel shot on 622 Gazza. 252 Blobby buried 126 Moneybags. 100 Cock put in 152 Mr Grumpy, as 252 Blobby spun 48 Marco. 9 Tom Jordan took the win and collected the Kingy montage.

Overs Heat 2 raised 16 cars. 366 Wrenny set about 506 Mitchell. 281 Tingle spun 5 Jonny.366 Wrenny spun 414 Doom aside, and 153 Roadhog did the same to 410 Calvert. 506 Mitchell spun out 466 Dalto while 153 Roadhog set about 169 Rushton and 917 John Millen raced to victory.

Heat 3 for the Overs saw 19 cars gather. 346 Muttley set about 691 Snapper from the off. This allowed 267 Frenchy to move in and put 346 Muttley in the tyres. 523 Swampy spun 476 Rosco. 261 Davies spun 181 Cadman. 476 Rosco blasted the recovering 181 Cadman. 267 Frenchy went in on 492 Mullet, and then spun 181 Cadman. 523 Swampy put 171 Westy Jnr in to the tyres. 169 Half Amp attacked 476 Rosco just before the reds came out, as Irish star 173 Hotsocks took the win.

Unders Heat 3 saw 36 cars. 209 Tombo put away 869 Scooby. 178 Walshy pummelled the spun 46 The Mole. 360 Jackstar spun 240 Harrison. 198 Banjo spun 131 Gromit. 178 Walshy set about 374 Carter. 209 Tombo attacked 198 Banjo, who shed a wheel. 673 Daz removed 539 Iain. 322 Foxy dispatched 439 Sutty. 178 Walshy spun 869 Scooby, only to be put away by 188 Victor. 209 Tombo ran 218 Sandy into the spun 178 Walshy. 673 Darren Fendley took the win; another of many in a successful season thus far.

27 cars hit the track for Unders Heat 4 – the last heat of the day. 537 Bruno spun 33 George and 10 Sideways Jim spun 715 Denby. 505 Baker and 49 Buff had a coming together near the pit gate with the former rolling dramatically – the reds came out straight away although 505 Baker gave a straight double thumbs up to the crowd. The restart saw 127 Goggles spin 538 Iain. 537 Bruno and 557 Paranoid combined to attack 123 Manning, who rolled on impact bringing the race to a stoppage for a second time in the race. This meant that both Rover P6’s had rolled in the same race. The restart saw 5 Jefferson spin 201 Ash. 171 Westy Jnr spun 517 Kinghorn. 557 Paranoid attacked 109 Barty Snr. A pile up on the pits bend formed claiming several drivers. 203 Gnasha attacked 715 Denby who backed the the latter up also claiming 267 Frenchy and 537 Bruno who were in a good scrap for the lead. 201 Ash also got caught up. 267 Frenchy spun 49 Buff and 557 Paranoid in one move. 25 Tombo removed 538 Lee from contention whilst the leading 800 Romeo spun. This saw a great battle between 537 Bruno and 267 Frenchy break out for the lead in their Mk3 Cortina’s; 267 Frenchy got out in front and held on to win.

Overs Alcomers 1 raised 22 cars. 333 Cotton dispatched 158 Dickson. 691 Snapper ran in 346 Muttley. 100 Cock spun 691 Snapper. 476 Rosco spun 100 Cock. 281 Basher Brad followed in 514 Taylor claiming 466 Dalto too. 252 Blobby jacked 476 Rosco ending his day.17 Chief blasted 100 Cock. 252 Blobby removed 17 Chief, triggering a pile up. 173 Hotsocks weighed in on 346 Muttley. 466 Dalto went in on the back of 173 Hotsocks. 492 Mullet drove through 100 Cock. 169 Half Amp attacked 266 Big Al. 17 Chief dished a head on to 100 Cock. 9 Jordan tboned 17 Chiefy. 281 Basher Brad won, taking his maiden Unlimited win and he celebrated by collecting 492 Mullet. 366 Wrenny jacked 281 Basher Brad in an all DS420 limo encounter. 252 Blobby drove through 366 Wrenny, whilst Team V running mate 266 Big Al jacked 243 Flatpack to close out the action.

The first Alcomers Unders raised an impressive 66 cars. 386 Tony and 439 Sutty were early spinners. 360 Jackstar followed in 503 Beebo. 238 Boulton set about 322 Foxy, which left him prime to a shot from 349 Finbarr. 295 Morrison spun 353 Buckley, who’s VW Camper teased the crowd by going up on two wheels. 267 Frenchy jacked 503 Beebo. 333 Chaz blitzed somebody under the pit bend crowd. 360 Jackstar followed 64 Gazza into 20 Greenall, running the latter in backwards creating a mega wreck. 171 Westy Jnr ruined 64 Gazza. This triggered a pile up on the pits bend, and a subsequent race stoppage to assist 20 Greenall from his wreck. The restart saw 378 Jordan follow in 349 Finbarr; rolling on impact. 515 Sanders tboned 349 Finbarr, as 118 Sharp jacked 581 Mr Fixit creating 64 Gazza’s abandoned A60 to go airbourne and nearly clearing the catch fence, before a few more came piling in as the red flags came out. The restart saw 515 Sanders tbone spun 353 Buckley who again nearly tipped over. 370 Segrove jacked 515 Sanders. 310 Eno rolled down the home straight but drove himself to safety. 303 Linsdale rolled bringing the reds out once again. 25 Tombo triggered the start of the action on the restart, dispatching 316 Dace. 188 Victor jacked 515 Sanders. 77 Captain Condom spun 96 BamBam. 515 Sanders attacked 295 Morrison.281 Tingle jacked 839 Pusher Paul. 515 Sanders ran 295 Morrison into 281 Tingle. 421 Dino jacked 515 Sanders hard. 252 Blobby weighed in on 515 Sanders rolling the latter, which earned him rollover of the meeting; a fitting winner for the occasion. The race was declared at this stage; 67 ‘Sparky’ Mark Whittaker deemed the winner this time.

32 cars made the track for Alcomers 2 for the Overs. 616 Flippit jacked 261 Davies. 171 Westy Jnr jacked 616 Flippit, snapping the latter’s Mercedes big time. 691 Snapper went in on 171 Westy Jnr. 492 Mullet jacked 328 Parry, before the reds came out to assist 616 Flippit. The restart saw 181 Cadman follow 155 Captain Slow into 267 Frenchy’s parked car. 513 Harvey jacked 181 Cadman. 591 Blower weighed in on 513 Harvey. 252 Blobby ran 152 Mr Grumpy into 760 Joey, with all going in to the armco. 169 Half Amp weighed in on 523 Swampy. 281 Basher Brad and 360 Jackstar went in to the ever growing pile up. 617 Everett jacked 169 Half Amp, only to cop a tbone from 924 Millen. 625 Lunchbox followed 492 Mullet in hard. The majority of the field were involved in the huge pile up, so the race was declared in favour of 112 the Captain.

Another mega field of 64 cars were on track for Alcomers 2. 13 Palin set about 158 Davies. 10 Sideways Jim followed in 504 Jones with 209 Tombo latching on the back to add to the impact. 329 Carter spat 310 Eno left at the end of the back straight. 329 Carter jacked 45 Sutton. A home straight track blockage ensued, which 10 Sideways Jim managed to break clear of to follow in 743 Bondy Jnr a purler. 267 Frenchy drove through 715 Denby.132 Baba Dando jacked an Invader in the middle of the pile up. 47 Davies pushed 143 O’Connor and 27 Wonderboy down the back straight, which resulted in 143 O’Connor meeting the infield marker tyres and 27 Wonderboy tboning 96 BamBam. 209 Tombo delivered a savage head on to 790 Buckley.360 Jackstar jacked 143 O’Connor. 49 Buff weighed in on 360 Jackstar. 179 Cool jacked 360 Jackstar. 539 McDavid treated 209 Tombo to a head on. 174 Azza jacked 539 McDavid on oppo. 203 Gnasha jacked 174 Azza. 337 Gielles caught 188 Victor in the drivers door as he went for an attack. 209 Tombo gave a head on to 516 Ikky. 337 Gielles delivered a head on to 169 Rushton. 188 Victor jacked 337 Gielles in a revenge shot. 188 Victor then went in again with a massive shot on 337 Gielles. 25 Tombo went in on 715 Denby. 188 Victor piled in on 25 Tombo. 26 Bylett attacked 188 Victor. 47 Davies attempted to push 25 Tombo through the pile up to break himself free. 49 Buff attacked 174 Azza. 188 Victor barged his way through the pits bend wreckage. 5 cars were left running at this stage – 632 Reedy Jnr, 188 Victor, 179 Cool, 47 Davies and 141 Steele. After battering his way through the carnage on the entrance of the home straight, 188 Victor took the win – a well fought victory. Victor had no time to celebrate with 179 Cool weighing in on him. 179 Cool attacked 715 Denby to round off an impressive race of action.

The Overs Final saw 18 cars hit the track. 760 Joey jacked 112 the Captain. 5 Jonny does 760 Joey. 591 Blower followed in 281 Basher Brad.691 Snapper run 291 Bell into 591 Blower getting big air time. 5 Jonny jacked 169 Half Amp. 466 Dalto jacked 5 Jonny. 112 the Captain drove through 760 Joey on the infield. 281 Basher Brad removed 112 the Captain, the latter tboning 360 Jackstar freeing him from the tyres. 267 Frenchy smeared 169 Half Amp across the armco. 466 Dalto followed in 360 Jackstar. 523 Swampy jacked 169 Half Amp. 173 Hotsocks raced to the win ahead of 523 Swampy and 252 Blobby.

The Overs DD commenced with 691 Snapper giving a head on to 760 Joey. 173 Hotsocks attacked 267 Frenchy. 266 Big Al blasted 173 Hotsocks. 523 Swampy spat 267 Frenchy into 466 Dalto. 691 Snapper dished an on oppo attack to 523 Swampy. 267 Frenchy jacked 173 Hotsocks. 346 Muttley drove through 691 Snapper. 466 Dalto tboned 691 Snapper. 523 Swampy ruined 466 Dalto. 173 Hotsocks jacked 346 Muttley. 523 Swampy administered a front wheel shot to 691 Snapper. 266 Big Al went for a head on to 523 Swampy. 252 Blobby tboned 173 Hotsocks. 691 Snapper dished a tame shot to 523 Swampy. 691 Snapper won and parked in the back of 346 Muttley to celebrate.

The Unders Final started with 22 cars, although there was lots more waiting for the DD. 374 Carter spun 141 Steele. 267 Frenchy spat 715 Denby into the tyres. 141 Steele spun 374 Carter, in a swift revenge move. The leading 267 Frenchy obliged to jack the lame 374 Carter. 198 Banjo followed in 99 Hughes rolling the latter on impact bringing out the reds. The restart saw 112 the Captain attack 715 Denby. 537 Bruno and 267 Frenchy commenced in a mega scrap for the lead; again another great sight seeing the pair of Mk3 Ford Cortinas swapping position. 209 Tombo delivered a massive head on to 112 the Captain. 439 Sutty jacked 112 the Captain. The back marking 374 Carter took out the leading 267 Frenchy, also slowing 537 Bruno. This allowed 673 Daz to close in on 537 Bruno, creating a new tussle for the lead. 537 Bruno spun 316 Dace. 800 Romeo spun 198 Banjo.158 Davies run in 141 Steele, but got caught up himself. 198 Banjo jacked 158 Davies. 374 Carter weighed in on 198 Banjo. 47 Davies jacked 198 Banjo. 316 Dace jacked 47 Davies. 537 Bruno spun 673 Daz to take the lead on the last lap.

The Unders DD saw 322 Foxy blast final winner 537 Bruno. 439 Sutty went in on 322 Foxy. 281 Tingle jacked 179 Cool. 322 Foxy attacked 439 Sutty. 48 the Shownan ruined 198 Banjo. 537 Bruno jacked 800 Romeo. 346 Muttley jacked 537 Bruno. 10 Sideways Jim jacked 346 Muttley. 337 Gielles jacked 10 Sideways Jim, while 388 Little Stevo dished a shot on 439 Sutty. 505 Baker went in on 388 Little Stevo. 439 Sutty attacked 188 Victor. 505 Baker jacked 322 Foxy. 188 Victor weighed in on 505 Baker. 388 Little Stevo drove through 439 Sutty. 439 Sutty went in on 322 Foxy. 188 Victor attacked 439 Sutty. 388 Little Stevo tapped 188 Victor. 388 Little Stevo and 439 Sutty had a little play about. 439 Sutty went in on 388 Little Stevo. 388 Little Stevo received shots from 439 Sutty and 188 Victor. 439 Sutty went in on 388 Little Stevo to take the win.

Overall, Stoke definitely provided the goods! The atmosphere, the cars, the prep, the racing, the action; the smile on my face did not leave from the moment I set foot in the pits.
