Back to Basics – 23/09/2018 – Yarmouth

After a month absence, 44 Back To Basics gathered at Yarmouth Stadium on Sunday 23rd September for another night of solid action.

Heat 1 saw 23 cars form the grid. 764 Gray was an early casualty as he was put into the fence. 999 Burrell put away 715 Evans. 28 Greeny attacked 499 Emms. 715 Evans buried 11 into 28 Greeny. 999 Burrell shed his rear wheel bringing a race stoppage. The restart saw a big push on the Caister bend claiming several drivers. 512 Ray spun 715 Evans who was having a torrid time of things. 421 Hippo spun 466. 562 Baker spat 140 Scottie away at the end of the back straight. 562 Baker, 222 Norton and 366 all had a big coming together on the pits bend. 23 followed in 434 to earn himself a load up. 434 administered a revenge attack on 23. 222 Norton spun 308 Martin as 179 John Mancini won.

Heat 2 started with 20 cars. 465 Webb spun 230 Tweedy. 9 Titch had a nibble at 175 Emmo for the lead. 292 Harrold ran in 760 Hazza to become the second person loaded on the night. 13 Burcham collected 760 Hazza. 316 Dace span 465 Webb. 175 Emmo spun 230 Tweedy as he moved past 367 Beevor as well to climb back up to second place. 441 LeGrice, 367 Beevor and 447 Nail all enjoyed a great battle for second place as 9 Titch Mancini took the second win for the family so far.

Heat 3 raised 35 cars as the heavens opened. 441 LeGrice spun 445 Leonard and 715 Evans did the same to 421 Hippo. 466 launched into the back of 14 Bazza. 571 Shaunie crashed out with 366 on the Caister bend. 222 Norton spun aside 28 Greeny. 715 Evans put away 512 Ray. 366 ran 14 Bazza in through the passenger doors. 421 Hippo attacked 33 Magic. 995 Dean spun 572 Orford. 571 Shaunie spun 28 Greeny, with the latter backing his attacker in to a post. 33 Magic spun previous race winner 9 Titch, who was avenged by 179 Fat Pants which saw 33 Magic get turfed aside too. 222 Norton turned 179 Fat Pants left, with the former going on to tangle with 571 Shaunie to then be spun by 447 Nail. 175 James Emmerson took the win this time around.

The Final saw 25 cars make the grid. 33 Magic put away 499 Emms as he made a rapid start.465 Webb buried 421 Hippo only to be spun by 760 Hazza. 13 Burcham spun 33 Magic who backed his attacker in the fence. 555 Ellis spun 562 Baker and then went on to do the same to 760 Hazza. 13 Burcham set about 101 Watson. 222 Norton ran 572 Orford into 466 and then whilst leading ran 367 Beevor in through the passenger doors. The reds came out for 367 Beevor who exited all ok. The restart saw 433 Smith turn 101 Watson left claiming 28 Greeny too. The leading 441 LeGrice weighed in on 572 Orford which triggered a pile up claiming most of the pack on the caister bend. 13 Burcham attacked 499 Emms; 760 Hazza then put away 13 Burcham.

18 cars went the distance to the DD. 230 Tweedy attacked 466. 760 Hazza jacked 994 Billy P. 995 Dean tboned 994 Billy P. A pile up formed on the pit bend. 433 Smith attacked 140 Scottie and then went on to jack 6 Ling. The lively 433 Smith jacked 555 Ellis hard. 760 Hazza jacked 715 Evans; the latter then received a head on from 175 Emmo. 33 Magic attacked 555 Ellis allowing 222 Norton to jack the latter hard. 555 Ellis went into the back of 33 Magic. 175 Emmo attacked 222 Norton. 175 Emmo dished a head on to 140 Scottie. 33 Magic weighed in on 175 Emmo. 995 Dean delivered a reverse attack on 994 Billy P getting some air time as he tried to kill his mum’s old road car. 33 Magic attacked 175 Emmo in reverse. 760 Hazza slammed into 995 Dean. 33 Magic went head on with 760 Hazza. 760 Hazza shed the inside front tyres which allowed 33 Magic to move in and deliver a hit over the front of the former to take the honours and round off another good session for the Back To Basics.
