Kings Lynn played host to the Unlimited Bangers East Anglian Championship in its regular Easter Saturday slot. There were a sprinkling of drivers racing from the continent, with 337 Gielle Koorn, 372 Rene Reijer and 829 Martjin Robben having smart Volvos for the occasion, whilst 791 Nicky Young had a smart Vauxhall Omega Limo. 


The Whites & Yellows Championship got underway with 51 James Licquorice setting the early running. 87 Damien Matthews spun 107 Taylor Pratchett, and was spun in turn by 419 Laura Quadling. 662 Dalton Smith worked his way past 51 Licquorice to take up the running. 127 Phil Markham rattled 790 Nathan Young around the plating on turn 2. 281 Lewis Tingle spun 87 Damo. 662 Dalto went wide under pressure from 107 Pratchett, which allowed 51 Licquorice to move through and take up the running, with the rapid 155 Sam Coote hit on his tail. 419 Mossop spun 662 Dalto, ending his charge. 281 Tingle thundered 791 Nicky Young into the plating on turn 2. 155 Captain Slow spun 51 Licquorice for the lead. 182 Tingle delivered a solid head on to 791 Spud, ending the latter’s evening. 51 Licquorice jacked 267 Martin French, and was then well and truly leathered in turn by 224 James Burrows. The red flags coming out on track with the race declared. The win going to 155 Sam Coote, with 195 Dave Forrest taking second and 419 Laura Quadling third.

Heat 1 saw 337 Gielle Koorn the first to show, spinning 257 Ben Waddingham. 271 Ashlun Woods spun 829 Martjin Robben, and 589 Simon Smith went round courtesy of 555 Harry Gelsthorp. 372 Rene Reijer spun 343 Lewis White. 625 Joshua Gooch got spun aside courtesy of 455 Ricki Finney, as they race set off to a fast tempo. 639 Tye Williams whipped 455 Finney out of contention. 829 Robben tangled with 589 Gonna, and ended up getting turned fence-wards by 604 Ross Cooper. 155 Captain Slow punted 211 Dennis Vorkink on, with the latter rattling the plating under the scoreboard. 873 Kyle Roberts did the spun 548 Alex Utting on the nose, before 107 Pratchett leathered 211 Mister Nös. Several drivers came to grief on the exit of turn 4. 107 Pratchett turned 137 Shaun Chaplin left at the end of the home straight. 107 Pratchett again piled into 211 Mister Nös, as 137 Chaplin and 150 Andrew Parrin crashed out on the back straight. 873 Roberts jacked 211 Mister Nös, ensuring that was the last we saw of the Volvo limo all night. 549 Phil Smith followed 873 Roberts in. 548 Big Al came against the flow to deliver a couple of head ons to 873 Roberts. 257 Benji weighed in on oppo to Big Al. The red flags coming out on track, with 129 Joe Skutela taking his maiden win.

222 Matty High and 862 Reece Eglington suffered early spins at the start of Heat 2, before 335 Lee White followed in 62 Harvey Webb. 625 Gucci jacked 335 Bulldog. 182 Tingle leathered 350 Liam Webster. 828 Jordan Sharpe jacked Gucci, with the World of Shale Champion getting collected by 372 Rene. 100 Callum White jacked 372 Rene. 182 Tingle rattled 337 Gielles around the plating. 639 Tye Pirate spun 222 Matty. 214 Connor Osborne jacked 56 Ricky Clarke. 182 Tingle dispatched 830 Lee White, before 214 Osborne put the boot up on 862 Eglington’s Mk3 Granada. 639 Tye Pirate spun 777 Arian Vorkink. 222 Matty came under fire from 214 Osborne, as 127 Phil Markham raced to the win.

Heat 3 saw 662 Dalto the first casualty, getting turned left by 214 Osborne. 130 Joe Gladden set about 267 Frenchy. 271 Woods laid into 56 Clarke, and was done in turn by 224 Buggsy Jnr. 267 Frenchy’s Volvo Limo sat broadside exiting turn 2, which claimed several drivers. This allowed 337 Gielles to weigh in on 237 Gary Nash. 129 Joe Skutela drove through 51 Licquorice, and 155 Captain Slow did the same to 337 Gielles as they looked to make a gap through the melee. 107 Pratchett delivered a head on to 337 Gielles, and was blasted out the way in turn by 604 Cooper. 455 Finney spun 209 Tom Waller, as 307 Martin Kent jacked 829 Robben. 271 Woods spun 199 Shaydy Gough. 137 Chaplin went in on the nose of 199 Shaydy. The red flags then came out on track. 271 Woods lead them away on the restart. 299 Tommy Callaghan spun 611 Joe Geeves. 107 Pratchett tangled with 130 Gladden, before 224 Buggsy Jnr weighed in on 777 Vorkink. 107 Pratchett rattled the armco, bouncing off into the path of 459 Blake Platts which caused the Silver Boys driver to collect the lame 56 Clarke car. 555 Dirty Harry suffered mechanical gremlins which saw his steering break, and he pasted 662 Dalto’s empty motor. 777 Vorkink tangled with 224 Buggsy Jnr, which left him open to a jacking from 146 Dan Wigman. 271 Ashlun Woods managed to hold off the charge from 62 Webb to take the win.

The start to the East Anglian Championship was short lived. 107 Pratchett spun 790 Nafe, as 51 Licquorice spun 37 Jay Chilton. 247 Bro absolutely destroyed Nafe with a front wheel shot. 146 Wiggy spun 199 Kris Clifford, and was then spun by 307 Pretty Boy in turn before the reds came out for 790 Nafe. 181 Grant Doe, 182 Tingle and 604 Cooper suffered early spins on the restart. 146 Wiggy spun 350 Webster. 589 Gonna and 229 Harry Cobb tangled along the back straight, which left the latter facing the oncoming traffic. 271 Woods spun 199 Clifford. 639 Tye Pirate delivered a rear wheel shot to Clifford. 100 Cock spun 181 Doe. 604 Cooper ran 267 Frenchy backwards into 199 Clifford. 455 Finney collected 604 Cooper. 362 Johnny James drove through 199 Clifford. 247 Bro homed in on 199 Clifford, before the red flags came out for 267 Frenchy for his own safety – he was determined to get the car going again but it was sparking behind the driver’s seat unknown to him. 195 Grenade Dave headed the pack from 271 Woods and 307 Pretty Boy on the restart. Woods wasted no time in the hunt for the lead, spinning Grenade Dave left. 299 Callaghan spun 830 Stretch. 247 Bro weighed in on 830 Stretch. 209 Tombo took his opportunity to pounce for the lead, punting the back marking 224 Buggsy Jnr into the leading 271 Woods, allowing him to slip through. Woods spun Buggsy Jnr aside, and 639 Tye Pirate did the same to 307 Pretty Boy. Tye Pirate clipped the lame 267 Frenchy car, which sent him fence-wards. 146 Wiggy spun 307 Pretty Boy. 281 Tingle set about 224 Buggsy Jnr. 209 Tom Waller took the title from 271 Ashlun Woods and 459 Blake Platts.

Into the DD, where 137 Chaplin was the first to show, following in 777 Vorkink. 828 Sharpey jacked Chaplin. 51 Licquorice and 224 Buggsy Jnr traded head ons. 828 Sharpey jacked 224 Buggsy Jnr as 281 Tingle tboned 51 Licquorice. 182 Tingle homed in for a head on to Licquorice. 549 Smiffy jacked 828 Sharpey. Shapey tboned 224 Buggsy Jnr, and was jacked by 281 Tingle in turn. 281 Tingle silenced 549 Smiffy, before going in on the nose of 224 Buggsy Jnr to take the win.
