National Banger Awards
Driver of the Year
The driver of the year category highlights those that have had their fair share of success on track, with consistency showing key.

1st – 760 Joey Reynolds – 20.9%
Joey has balanced his National Saloon Stock Car with outings in Bangers once again this year, with it swinging more in the favour of banger fans seeing Joey and his racing ability more frequently. It was a superb 2025 for the 3 Litre man – he took the 2L British at Northampton and followed that up with a dominant victory in his BMW in the English Championship at Skegness in August, a track where he had many victories en route to winning their points title. The BMWs have given Joey heaps of success, and he certainly knows how to win in stylish fashion with some superb sideways displays. Joey capped off the year taking all 3 wins at Barford Raceway in December for the Unlimited Christmas Blitz, and has continued those winning ways into 2026 with victories at the Heavy Metal Classic. There doesn’t look to be any stopping his winning ways!

2nd – 459 Blake Platts – 12.7%
2025 was a triumphant year for the Silver Boys, particularly on the Spedeworth scene. 455 Ricki Finney raced to the Spedeworth Points Championship with Blake only 8 points behind in a tightly contested season, taking third place overall. World Final came around with several tipping Blake for a good showing in the main race, and he didn’t succumb to any pressure, lapping up the occasion to make a calculated well-timed move on 887 Rob Browning to race to his biggest win to date, and has since displayed the gold with pride.

3rd – 262 Rob ‘Roona’ Bugler – 12.2%
After years of hard work, it was finally Roona’s time to wear gold. The BRCM took two major titles in 2025, but it was probably taking the PRI World Championship victory in front of a home crowd at Mendips which meant the most to him. That came in mid-September having already secured the win in the Unlimited World of Shale at Kings Lynn, where the BRCM outfit really showcased how well they work as a unit.

5th – 7 Aaron Charles – 8.0%
6th – 455 Ricki Finney – 6.4%

8th – 186 Lewis Fasey – 5.0%
9th – 754 Klaas-Jan Poolman – 4.6%

Entertainer of the Year
The Entertainer of the Year category underlines those that go the extra lengths to put on a show for us. Crashing, material or great pit work; but most commonly, all three, are attributes that equate to a great entertainer.

1st – 360 Jack ‘Jackstar’ Reynolds – 13.98%
Jackstar makes it two years on the bounce as your Entertainer of the Year. Whilst brother Joey was busy winning races, Jackstar has once again had a year of highlight reels with some big hits and impressive machinery. It’s become a rolling theme that Jack ends with some impressive airtime, and that came at Arlington’s BWS round when he delivered a stellar shot to 321 ‘Chattyman’ Kieron Fry.

2nd – 623 ‘Tricky’ Ricky Hutton – 9.91%
Tricky’s never say die attitude has gained him a lot more fans over the past couple of years. Quite often have we seen him push a Jaguar XJ40 to its limits, and it’s rare that he is bothered by who’s on the receiving end of his attacks. Yarmouth and Mendips BWS rounds stand out as impressive showings, but he delivered one of the top hits of the Ipswich round too with a solid head on to 175 Hayden Ballard. Killing cars off nearly every meeting with the schedule that he has had is an impressive feat to boot.

3rd – 625 Joshua ‘Gucci’ Gooch – 7.61%
TWT spent the early part of the season warring with Aftermath, which saw Gucci among the forefront of the battle delivering several solid shots to his counterparts. Many associate Ford Scorpios with racing, yet Josh has put them to good use on a crashing front and will get the maximum out of them, continuing to crash even when wheels are off the wagon! Aldershot’s BWS round saw Josh start off the year with a bang, including a solid jacking on 455 Ricki Finney.

Most Improved Driver
The Most Improved Driver Award is for those that have visibly made the leap in to the mainframe of the scene – upping consistency in results over the season.

1st – 701 Riley Marsh – 22.08%
Riley has shown clear development behind the wheel in his second year in the National ranks. Last year’s Best Newcomer, Riley secured qualification for the Unlimited World Final for a second year in a row with some top results over the year including Aldershot and Ipswich’s BWS rounds. He also took second place in the 2 Litre ORC World Final at Mildenhall in May – we’re sure it won’t be long before he is winning major titles himself.

Best Newcomer
The Best Newcomer Award often features many drivers that have emerged from the junior ranks having become too old for their respective formulas. The likes of Junior Bangers and Micro Stock Cars serve as a brilliant training ground for the next step in oval racing and has already produced championship winners.

1st – 132 Jack Wyatt – 30.74%
The Posh Wash young gun was a starlet of the Junior Banger scene, winning a plethora of races in his last couple of years in the formula and made an impact a soon as he graduated into the National Bangers joining father 133 Ben and the rest of the family and Posh Wash team in the yellow and black. Jack showed early promise which turned to title victories in the latter part of the season winning the Unlimited Firecracker at Mildenhall and the Unlimited Nutcracker at Kings Lynn and will be certainly be one to keep an eye on as we head in to 2026.

Team of the Year
Team racing isn’t as prominent as years passed, but it is still a factor that plays its role within the National Banger scene.

1st – BRCM – 20.53%
It’s team honours once again for BRCM as the collective seemed to take it up a notch in 2025. 262 ‘Roona’ returned good to the team winning both the Unlimited World of Shale and 2L PRI World titles, whilst it was brother 252 Steven Bugler’s turn to take the Mendips silver roof. The team’s ability to be tactically in sync has been evident on multiple occasions, including that World of Shale win for Roona as well as the Mendips BWS round which he also took the honours in. The team ran out as overall entertainers at the Unlimited Icebreaker at Kings Lynn, whilst 333 Charlie Randell and 440 Macauley Mills have been well amongst it all year – Big Mac having a great year including winning the Ringwood Rookie World Final. 2026 has started as they left off and it will take some doing to knock them off the top of the pedestal.

2nd – DWO – 16.53%

3rd – TWT – 15.32%

4th – Silver Boys – 10.59%
5th – Damage Inc – 10.35%

11th – Dut Mie Niks – 2.81%
Car of the Year
Fans get just as excited at the material on display at meetings as they do for the action out on track. We were spoiled in 2025, and it was hard to pick a winner out of the efforts we saw.

1st – 639 Tye Williams – Rolls Royce Corniche – 10.81%
(Unlimited Pre 90 Dave Vincent Testimonial – Mildenhall Stadium)
Tye is never far away from the business end of this award. Last year he took the top two places with his 1963 Cadillac Limo and Mercury Country Ford, and this year his sublime Rolls Royce Corniche from the Dave Vincent Testimonial was deemed your favourite. Tye informed us how the car came about. ‘I saw it on eBay for £4500, and messaged the man saying that I was interested and went to visit him to discuss. He had to get rid of the car as the house was being sold, so I managed to get it for a bargain £500! It was always planned for the Vincent meeting,’ admits Tye, ‘as it was a cool car and I knew there wouldn’t be another.’ The Corniche certainly turned heads and obviously impressed Tye as he’d look to have another. ‘They’re such a cool car to look at and they don’t look massive, but standing next to it, they are a good size car.’ Tye makes it three years on the bounce of being in the top 3, we wonder whether he has something special lined up his sleeve for 2026.

‘Rookie’ Awards
Driver of the Year

1st – 355 Lexi Finney – 22.81%
Lexi marked her first full season in the Rookie Bangers at Skegness taking the Gold Roof Championship in August before taking second in the points standings in a close battle with 88 Lyndon Stark. Wins were plentiful for Lexi as she shot up the grades, booking her spot on the 1600 World Final grid for the first time. Lexi showed her abilities on the bigger stage, taking a 9th place from near the back of the grid, and will be looking to emulate those results once again in 2026.

2nd – 7 Aaron Charles – 7.27%
Aario has been a regular feature among victory lane at Standlake in the Street Bangers. He has won several meeting finals, as well as being part of the winning Fat Max’s Dream Team at the annual 4-a-side team meeting on Easter Monday.

=3rd – 190 Riley Holmes – 5.49%
=3rd – 817 Toby Hodgkinson – 5.49%
Riley and Toby share the 3rd place spot in what was two varied seasons for the pair. Riley spent the majority of the year competing at Buxton alongside brother 90 Joey, with Riley topping the track’s points and winning the British Championship in the Derbyshire Hills in his first season. He mixed it with rival brother duos in the Botfields and Murkins throughout the year too, and will be looking for more of the same this year. Toby needs no need introduction. A born entertainer that has shown significant improvement on the racing front in 2025. Toby has had the say in many races, whether that be amongst the places or stopping people. The Dreamers driver was close to gold in November entering the last bend in third place before collecting a parked car under pressure from a lunge from winner 717 Harvey Devall Jnr, and he followed that up with an Alcomers win on the night showing his pace.

Entertainer of the Year

1st – 623 Ricky Hutton – 14.19%
Whether it was Jaguars on the BWS circuit, or Astras at Gold Rush and 1600 World Qualifying rounds, Tricky and his team were kept busy by the TMT man stripping and building cars after he’s smashed them to bits. Tricky was a big part of the 1600 World result, stopping several of the front runners on opposite. With Tricky being joined out on track by son Connor (7), it’s unlikely we’ll see any slowing down from him.

2nd – 608 Lenny Murkin – 10.88%
Lenny has dealt his fair share of big hits, but has also been on the receiving end of several. He spent the first few months of the year heavily outnumbered against his rivals, often landing the first blow before getting back up once brother Levi stepped up from the Junior ranks and the pair have been a fairly unstoppable force since then. Lenny’s blocking abilities allowed Levi to win the Mildenhall Gold Rush, before the pair dealt some savage shots to 747 Will Parker in the Dash.

3rd – 609 Levi Murkin – 9.53%
As mentioned above, Levi hit the ground running alongside brother Lenny as the pair dealt with anybody that crossed them. Levi dealt several blows to 190 Riley Holmes during the 1600 World, and 2026 will surely see the Murkin boys sticking the front bumper in again.

Most Improved Driver

1st – 881 Caitlin Emery – 13.56%
Caitlin has had a top season at her home promotion of Autospeed featuring among the places on several occasions with wins coming too, seeing her sit between blue and red grade all season. Caitlin has had trips to Spedeworth venues as well, where she has more than held her own, and took 2nd place in the West of England Championship at Mendips in October. Caitlin has had many outings away from the domestic scene competing in the Ladies class too, where she took the Devonshire Cup at Taunton. Caitlin will be hoping to build on that to mount a challenge for the points title this season at her home promotion.

Best Newcomer

1st – 609 Levi Murkin – 19.02%
Levi made his debut at the World of Shale meeting having made the step up from the Junior Bangers where he was a dominant figure. He had a superb first meeting taking a heat win, and followed that up with a second in the main race and has seen top results since then including the Gold Rush wildcard at Mildenhall also. He and brother Lenny have the capabilities to go far in this division.

Team of the Year

1st – Dreamers – 38.25%
The Dreamers have dominated proceedings in the 1600 scene in 2025. Captain 194 ‘Cecil’ Steve Anscombe ensured the British Championship stayed in the camp after son 94 Jack displayed some brilliant team tactics to ensure the win was safe. It’s those team tactics that have really made the Dreamers stand out above the rest. Jack again was instrumental in the result of the Arlington Gold Rush race to allow 452 Harry Eyles to take the win, although the latter succumb to post-race checks. Harry took the Foxhall Thunder Series, and narrowly missed out on the Spedeworth Points after a great battle all season going down to the final race. Cecil was also victorious in the Arlington Cash or Card. 652 Harvey Eyles has enjoyed a solid debut season and will be one to keep an eye on, whilst 359 Sean Swanborough and 817 Toby Hodgkinson have produced the goods on the entertainment front, although Toby has been at the business end of things on more than one occasion. Toby nearly took the win in the 1600 World and has showed top pace all season. Any member of the team has the ability to win races and collectively pose a real threat. 334 Jamie and 450 Owen have had a fair outings through 2025 too, and usually get in the mix where needed.

1st – 162 Harry Ellacott – 21.24%
Harry had a superb 2025 season in what was his last year in the formula. He accumulated a remarkable 42 meetings throughout the year whilst silverware mounted up. The most impressive win was saved for the World Championship at Ringwood, where he bowed out of the formula winning the gold. That wasn’t the only major Harry won, however, having secured the Standlake Points which was aided by winning the Mini Metal Classic, Open Championship and A1 Open at the venue. Harry enjoyed several trips North too, with success coming at Warton where he won the Metal Mania and Alan Teal Memorial, and was part of the winning side at the Stansted team meeting. Harry has a top mentor in his father, and we’re sure he’ll be just as successful in his next step of racing.

2nd – 609 Levi Murkin – 11.54%
Levi entered the 2025 season with the silver roof having won the Trackstar Points the year previous. He only had until June before having to leave the formula through age, yet still managed to get second in the points with an impressive tally of 151 points in 5 meetings taking 3 heat wins and 2 final wins on his way out of the formula including a hattrick at the 5th April meeting.

3rd – 113 Beau Jeanes – 9.74%
Beau was another to rack up several meetings from his West-Country base. Beau took the Spedeworth silver roof and had a third place in the Trackstar points as podium places were plenty. A cracking driver with some serious talent.

1st – 138 Braydon Rice – 12.97%
Braydon couldn’t have asked for a better debut year. Having made his debut at Yarmouth in February, he ended the season as a strong red grader having climbed the grades and looked confident in doing so. With some drivers stepping up into the adults, Braydon will look to make a big impact in 2026.
