Back to Basics ‘Yarbiza’ – 28/05/2017 – Yarmouth

A sunny Bank Holiday Sunday saw an impressive 52 cars flock to Yarmouth for the Yarbiza event for back to basics including a substantial Southern invasion. The field was mainly Fiesta dominant, with 169 Jason Thompson’s Triumph Acclaim and 253 Graham Utting’s Mk2 Vauxhall Astra being stand out motors, while 340 Will Brazier and 760 Joey Reynolds impressed on the paint front.

Heat 1 attracted 22 cars, which started with 19 Titch spinning 546 Tony Leonard. 243 Hussey treated 499 Emma to similar treatment. This allowed 821 Dangerous to set about 243 Big Foot. 861 Donoghue spun 367 The Beevor. 19 Titch spun 72 Potts, as 595 Sal-mon and 499 Emms got tangled, resulting in them hitting the ropes. 548 Big Al spun 19 Titch, as 499 Emms delivered a revenge tboned to 595 Sal-mon. 821 Dangerous spun the luckless 243 Big Foot, who clipped 499 Emms and rolled. 821 Dangerous attacked 110 Buster, as 447 Nail ran into the rolled 243 Big Foot as the red flags came out. The restart saw 760 Joey spin 19 Titch as the only notable action. 445 Andy Leonard raced to the win ahead of 3 Litre pairing 760 Joey Reynolds and 380 Lee Hopkins.

Heat 2 raised a slightly better 26 cars owing to the half car split. 400 Kingsnorth spun 169 JT, who rolled big time landing in all four wheels. 284 Roffy spun 260 Keefy, who bounced back to treat 760 Hazza to the same treatment. 61 Danny C spun 126 Darbyshire, getting stuck on him in the process halting his process. 126 Darbyshire responded by spinning 385 Thurlow, going on to remove 253 Mr Yarmouth from contention. 742 Natho spun 340 Willy, who rolled spectacularly in the middle, bringing the race to a temporary stoppage. The restart saw the little Micra of 141 Snakey spin the big vecta of 873 Kyle.
197 Scooter leant 994 into the lame 6 Ling. 797 spun 760 Hazza. 141 Snakey buried 797 in turn. 400 Kingsnorth set about 760 Hazza, as 797 rejoined to spin 439 Sutty. 33 Gary Madgwick took the win ahead of 591 Aaron Morris and 622 Garry Webb.

The all in format for Heat 3 attracted 42 cars. 821 Dangerous attacked 19 Titch from the off. 473 Dangerous Mark got launched over the tyres into 414 Craig. 72 Potts spun 548 Big Al, as 385 Thurlow put away 110 Buster. 19 Titch buried 595 Sal-mon into 141 Snakey, with 760 Joey going on to put away 19 Titch for the second time in the evening. 873 Kyle got attacked by 253 Mr Yarmouth, who ran head on into 777, snapping the latter’s Audi A3 nicely. 169 JT jacked 253 Mr Yarmouth. 385 Thurlow followed in 873 Kyle, with 760 Joey running the leading 861 Donoghue into 385 Thurlow. 474 Tweety set about 548 Big Al, as 625 Gooch ran in 19 Titch. 197 Scooter leathered 19 Titch, which triggered a pile up on the pits bend. 760 Joey went in with a big lunge on 474 Tweety, sending the latter into the wires. 591 Aaron Morris took the win, with only 11 cars going the distance. 146 Dan Wigman and 474 Michael Kent his placemen.

After the chaos of Heat 3, 27 cars made it out for the final. Heat 3 winner 591 Morris spun 700. 102 Damo collected 378 Joy head on, as a pile up formed on the caister bend. 474 Tweety buried 821 Dangerous, as 591 Morris got bundled into the pile up. 821 Dangerous jacked up 102 Damo at the end of the home straight. 474 Tweety followed in 821 Dangerous and 873 Kyle in one move, snapping the latter’s Vectra in epic fashion. 591 Morris dispatched 284 Roffy. 474 Tweety set about the leading 260 Keefy. 760 Joey weighed in on 474 Tweety, as 33 Magic took a heat and final brace.

21 cars made it out for the DD. 385 Thurlow set about 821 Dangerous from the off. 499 Emms jacked 61 Danny C, who was in 365 Howard’s Scenic. 146 Wiggy tboned 499 Emms, as 260 Keefy leathered 821 Dangerous. 474 Twetty jacked 260 Keefy, as 385 Thurlow attacked 439 Sutty. 243 Big Foot jacked 797. 380 Leeful leathered 141 Snakey. 797 Jackson weighed in on 141 Snakey, snapping the Micra. 760 Joey attacked 439 Sutty, with 625 Gooch going in on the latter. 821 Dangerous delivered a head on to 243 Big Foot. 61 Danny C tboned 760 Joey and then delivered a head on to 141 Snakey before being set about by 260 Keefy and 760 Joey. 625 Gooch and 141 Snakey shared a head on, with 380 Leeful tboning 141 Snakey. A fire broke out on 797 Jackson’s Astra, as 439 Sutty set alight on the red flags also. The restart left 5 cars to settle the honours. 821 Dangerous dished out a head on to 146 Wiggy. 260 Keefy buried 243 Big Foot, with the latter jacking 260 Keefy in a revenge hit. 760 Joey connected with a hit to 146 Wiggy, leaving himself open to a jacking from 625 Gooch. 243 Big Foot again jacked 260 Keefy, as 760 Joey delivered a big shot on 146 Wiggy. 625 Gooch and 760 Joey shared a head on, with 625 Gooch killing off 760 Joey with a big hit.

A brilliant meeting saw plenty of racing and crashing, with the right attitude on display by all drivers all night, leaving the holiday crowd very entertained.
