Weekend Preview - Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March
The season is now in full swing, with numerous meetings happening in all corners of the country this weekend. Our first focus is on the National scene. Mildenhall Stadium sees the preliminary round of the RWD series, with a classic style 2l RWD format. With 17 drivers booked in at time of press, including names such as 22 Dave Vincent, 85 James Ellis, 206 Dave King, 326 Shane Lynn, 328 Danny Lathan, 439 Daniel Sutton and 673 Darren Fendley on the list, you can assure there will be plenty of tin and top sideways displays on action. North of the border sees the Big Van Bangers return for action at Lochgelly Raceway, with 7 vans set for one last drive and the likes of 99 Lee Clarke and 880 Naisy, they will the commercial beasts a welcome send off. The Big Van theme continues up north as Barford Raceway play host to the novelty meeting on the Sunday. The domestic banger class only see a handful of meetings over the weekend too. Incarace host a World Qualifying Round at Birmingham Wheels with 20 cars booked in including the Scrapyard Screamers, 290 Ryan Davies and the Starr family, this could be a decent session. The rookies also appear at Ringwood on Saturday where sparks often fly in the formula between the locals. Standlake on Sunday provides an interesting bilge brigade meeting, so be sure to see some old crack getting smashed up. Standlake’s street banger class has been heavily supported of late so this has all the potential to be a corker!
