Micro cars, big smiles - UK Champion 165 Benny Randell
165 Ben Randell took his biggest win to date at the Adrian Flux Arena on Saturday 30th September scooping the Micro UK Championship. The youngster from Hembsy in Norfolk avoided all the drama to take the chequered flag. We caught up with the Tesco worker to reflect on his views from the race as well as his preparation for the World Final this weekend.
C! - Congratulations on winning the Micro UK Championship! How did the race pan out?
B - Thank you! It was a hard race, with a few drivers turning round to stop people, it definitely was a tough one. In the last few laps, lots of cars were blocking the track, and the poor weather made it worse too.
C! - With all that was going on, it shows that you managed to use skill and knowledge to come through for the win, although most would describe it as a surprise win. The Micro format however, is one that you seem to get along with very well as you have picked up many wins and places throughout the year. What is your favoured banger class?
B - It was a surprise win! My favourite would have to be the Micros; good fun and they're cheap to get hold of.

C! - You definitely appear at home with the Unders, but your form in the RWD is steadily improving. You have a smart Toyota Supra Mk4 for Saturday. What's the game plan for World Final night?
B - I'm slowly getting there in the bigger cars. Saturday's plan is to probably try and get a few laps in. I'm wanting it to end wrecked.
C! - That's what we like to hear, best of both worlds! Any plans for the rest of the year?
B - There's a few Unlimited meetings at Kings Lynn I'd like to do, will have to see nearer the time I think.
C! - Definitely! You're Dad looked very proud on Saturday on victory lane after you're win on Saturday, it's clear to see he's a big part of your racing! Is there anyone else you'd like to thank?
B - Yeah he was over the moon. All of the Tillows, they help all the time. Racing alongside (256) Matt Tillow, (50) Dan Newman and (624) Cameron Hubbard is always a laugh, I wouldn't be doing it without them all helping out along the way.

C! - Top man! A group of you all helping one another out is always better! Who do you want to win the World Final?
B - It's got to be 617 Jack Overy for Gold!
C! - He's certainly one of the favourites! Thank you Ben, and we shall see you Saturday! Once again thank you for the support, as always, on your car.
